JILL FLAGG
Jill Flagg was born, raised and educated in Ohio. She graduated cum laude from Heidelberg College in 2001 and cum laude from the University of Akron School of Law in 2004. Jill has spent her career representing the accused in criminal cases and the injured in civil cases. She is widely recognized for her passionate and powerful courtroom presentations.
Jill was the only female attorney in Summit County and the youngest lawyer in Ohio to be certified to accept court-appointed death penalty cases. She is a graduate of the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Death Penalty Seminar and Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College Death Penalty College. Jill is a graduate of Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College, Class of 2010. In 2011, Jill joined the teaching faculty of Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College.
Jill has extensive jury trial and appellate experience in a wide range of cases including murder, sex-offenses, domestic violence, civil rights, money laundering, structuring, personal injury and wrongful death cases. She has been admitted to practice law in Ohio, Illinois, the Federal District Court for the Southern of Ohio, the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and the Federal District for the Northern District of Illinois. She is a member of the Ohio Bar Association, the Akron Bar Association, the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys (CATA), the Council of Parent Attorney Advocates (COPAA), and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Jill strongly believes in the power of the jury system and in the need for trial lawyers to develop a true understanding of, and empathy for, their injured and accused clients. She handles most civil cases on contingency basis, meaning her fees will be paid only from any settlement or award.
Jill is the proud mother of a child with autism. Jill works hard to protect the rights of people with disabilities that make them vulnerable, especially children with autism and autism spectrum disorders.
